Basketball Recap: Jefferson's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Jefferson waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 54-49 W against the Broadwater Bulldogs. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 58-38 victory back in February.

Leading Jefferson to victory were Ryian Eveland and Cameron Toney. Eveland dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards, while Toney dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. Toney's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Jaida Jurenka was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Broadwater, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Jefferson will take on Ennis in a tournament on Saturday. Ennis' defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Jefferson's offense will have their work cut out for them. Broadwater does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
