Football Game Preview: Uxbridge Spartans vs. South Colonels + How To Watch

The Uxbridge Spartans will venture away from home to take on the South Colonels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Uxbridge's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

On Saturday, Uxbridge took their game with ease, bagging a 48-14 victory over Oxford. The Spartans pushed the score to 34-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates had little chance of recovering from.

Uxbridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camden Lachapelle, who rushed for 163 yards and three scores on only seven carries. Lachapelle's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 15th straight game with at least 131 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Thatcher Sweeney, who picked up 117 receiving yards and three TDs.

Meanwhile, South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Hudson, falling 37-0. While losing is never fun, the Colonels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Hawks are ranked 46th).

South's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Uxbridge, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Uxbridge strolled past South when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 21-6. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Colonels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
