Baseball Recap: South Fayette Takes a Loss

South Fayette managed to slip by Central Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Vikings on Wednesday, falling 9-3. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

South Fayette has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Central Catholic, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Fayette will head out to take on Peters Township at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Central Catholic, they will face off against Montour at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
