Volleyball Recap: Leo Comes Up Short

Leo lost against Norwell on Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 25-15 in the first set.

Leo actually scored more points across those three sets (58-55), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Leo saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marlowe Weaver had 19 digs and two assists.

Leo's defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10. As for Norwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Leo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Adams Central on the 22nd. As for Norwell, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Fort Wayne South Side on the 22nd.
