Sandy Valley extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 5-8 in the process. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Springfield Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on April 9th.

As for Springfield, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly five runs.

For Springfield's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Bracken, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Gabe Jurmanovich was another, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Sandy Valley and Springfield could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Cardinals will face off against Garaway at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (505 vs. 187). Meanwhile, Springfield (ranked 655th) will meet Norton (ranked 123rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
