Recap: Sparta Trojans vs. Central Blue Eagles

There's no place like home for the Sparta Trojans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 53-42 victory over Central on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brandon Moore. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with five steals. Moore hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Darren McHenry was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.

Sparta pushed their record up to 15-3 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Central, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.

Sparta will look to defend their home court on Monday against Aurora Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. Aurora Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Sparta is ranked 38th). As for Central, they will head out on the road to challenge East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
