After a string of six wins, Abington Heights's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Susquehanna Valley Sabers. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Comets couldn't push the score so high this time.

Laurenp Stalica spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

Abington Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Susquehanna Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Abington Heights will square off against Deposit-Hancock at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Susquehanna Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seton Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
