The Oberlin The Phoenix couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were the victim of a rough 73-48 loss at the hands of Open Door Christian on Saturday. Oberlin lost against Open Door Christian in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-53 score last time.

Oberlin's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Julian Anderson, who scored 8 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmello Williams, who scored 7 points.

Oberlin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Open Door Christian, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Oberlin will head out on the road to face off against Midview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Open Door Christian, they will face off against Cornerstone Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
