Baseball Game Preview: Portland Christian Royals vs. Nestucca Bobcats

For the second straight game, Portland Christian will face off against Nestucca. The Royals are taking a road trip to challenge the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Portland Christian barely beat Nestucca the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Royals never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won four matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Jack Mazurowski made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Portland Christian is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. Mazurowski was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Noah Humphrey was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Pasquale Walker also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Portland Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nestucca only posted an OBP of .158.

Nestucca's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Portland Christian, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
