Baseball Recap: Bishop O'Dowd Comes Up Short

Bishop O'Dowd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 10-6 to the Encinal Jets. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Bishop O'Dowd got a good showing from Leo Schwartz, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Schwartz has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Rashad Hayes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Evan Garrison also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bishop O'Dowd now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Encinal, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

While Bishop O'Dowd had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
