Soccer Game Preview: Manatee vs. Out-of-Door Academy

The Manatee Hurricanes will take on the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Manatee fell victim to Braden River and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 7-0. The loss continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Out-of-Door Academy waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 1-0 shutout.

Out-of-Door Academy pushed their record up to 10-4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Manatee, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-1.

Manatee suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Out-of-Door Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Manatee was down 5-0.
