Softball Game Preview: Steele Canyon Cougars vs. Eastlake Titans

The Steele Canyon Cougars will head out to challenge the Eastlake Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Steele Canyon will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating El Capitan, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars came out on top against the Vaqueros by a score of 7-2 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Belle Will was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Hailey Trujillo, who earned three runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Eastlake had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on El Capitan with a sharp 7-1 win on Friday. The Titans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 11-1).

Addison Suriano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Olshenskie, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Ryan Pham also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Steele Canyon's record is now 18-13-1. As for Eastlake, their record now sits at 18-11-1.
