Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Texans vs. Bell Blue Raiders

The Northwest Texans will head out to square off against the Bell Blue Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Northwest ended up a good deal behind V.R. Eaton and lost 51-36. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1063rd, while the Eagles are ranked 244th).

Meanwhile, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Bell made off with a 48-47 win over V.R. Eaton.

Bell is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-20.

Northwest might still be hurting after the 77-57 defeat they got from Bell in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Northwest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
