Baseball Recap: Ralston's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Ralston barely beat Omaha South the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams beat the Packers on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-3. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Dallas Whetzal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Nick Benis was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bryson Sargent, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Benis wasn't the only one making solid contact: Ralston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha South only managed four hits.

The win made it two in a row for Ralston and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Omaha South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Ralston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-4 win against York on the 8th. As for Omaha South, they have also already played their next matchup, a 20-2 victory against Buena Vista on the 8th.
