Marshfield won the last time they faced Merrill and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bluejays 9-7.

Lillian Griesbach was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Madison Kraus was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Griesbach wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Marshfield lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Marshfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Merrill fell to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Marshfield will square off against Holmen at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Merrill, they will challenge Pacelli at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
