Baseball Recap: Northridge Has No Trouble Against Westlake

Northridge barely beat Westlake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Northridge was the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Westlake on Tuesday. Considering the Knights have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jon Olsen, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Boston Wright, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Olsen wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Northridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. Northridge is a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for Northridge and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Westlake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northridge will welcome Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westlake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Provo at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
