Softball Game Preview: Richmond Red Devils vs. South Dearborn Knights

The Richmond Red Devils will venture away from home to take on the South Dearborn Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither Richmond nor South Dearborn posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Richmond can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Friday. They came up short against Lawrence North, falling 15-1. The Red Devils have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Richmond saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, South Dearborn lost 9-1 to Rising Sun on Monday.

Richmond might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from South Dearborn when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
