Jefferson County Christian is 1-9 against Wellsville since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Jefferson County Christian took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Tuscarawas Central Catholic as they made off with a 14-6 win. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Carson Duvall was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Carl Bonecutter was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Jefferson County Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tuscarawas Central Catholic only posted an OBP of .353.
Meanwhile, Wellsville didn't have quite enough to beat David Anderson on Wednesday and fell 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost four in a row.
Landon Ramsey was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Tyler Landess made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Wellsville: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-13 otherwise.
Jefferson County Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Wellsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jefferson County Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wellsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Jefferson County Christian skirted past Wellsville 10-8 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
