Flag Football Game Preview: Langston Hughes Panthers vs. East Coweta Indians

For the first time this season, Langston Hughes will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the East Coweta Indians at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Langston Hughes 4.2, East Coweta 3.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Langston Hughes is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging a 45-0 victory over Drew. Considering the Panthers have won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jada Davis was the offensive standout of the game as she threw for 96 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of her passes. What's more, she racked up 150.9 passer rating, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Mariah Bell made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Langston Hughes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Athena Wilder and Bell were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Bell got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, East Coweta put their dominant defense on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Mundy's Mill a 14-0 shutout.

The win made it two in a row for Langston Hughes and bumps their season record up to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for East Coweta, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Langston Hughes didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against East Coweta when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 12-6 victory.
