Softball Recap: Laurens Academy Wins Going Away Against Northside Christian Academy

Laurens Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Northside Christian Academy with a sharp 14-2 win.

Maddie Loe spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Mackenzie Runyans was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylee Burke, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple and one run.

Laurens Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Northside Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coming up, Laurens Academy will challenge Wardlaw Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northside Christian Academy, they will square off against Florence Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside Christian Academy is facing Florence Christian at the right time seeing as Florence Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
