Bunker Hill took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past Patton 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Bunker Hill's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kamden Bortz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Carson Hollar also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Lincolnton can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over Shelby. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolves needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Karson Cloninger made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alan Rydell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Hunter Houser was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Lincolnton back to even at 1-1. As for Bunker Hill, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
