Softball Game Preview: Elkhorn Elks vs. Burlington Demons

For the second straight game, Elkhorn will face off against Burlington. The Elks are taking a road trip to take on the Demons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Elkhorn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Elkhorn earned a 4-1 victory over Burlington.

Veronica Siegler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kendall Kresen, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie Jacobson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Burlington and nudges their season record down to 8-6. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Elkhorn, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
