Baseball Recap: Grossmont Takes a Loss

Grossmont fell victim to Steele Canyon and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Foothillers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Grossmont got a good showing from Jacob Holman, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Holman a new career-low.

Grossmont's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Steele Canyon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-10.

Grossmont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-2 defeat against Granite Hills on the 22nd. As for Steele Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-5 loss against Clairemont on the 21st.
