After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lexington, Groesbeck was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 32-21 victory over the Rockdale Tigers. For the Goats, this counts as revenge for the 42-28 loss the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2016.

Trent Platt continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 179 yards on only 16 passes. A healthy portion of that aerial production (88 yards to be exact) went to Cannon Campbell.

Despite the defeat, Rockdale saw an underclassman step up: Jeramiah Butler rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Deandre Stephens, who picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Groesbeck pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Rockdale, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
