Preview: Hawkinsville Red Devils vs. Dooly County Bobcats

Hawkinsville is 1-9 against Dooly County since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Hawkinsville Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Dooly County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th. Hopefully Hawkinsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.

On Friday, Hawkinsville narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Twiggs County 34-32. The team accrued 28 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Hawkinsville found their leader in underclassman Nieem Blair, who scored ten points along with two steals. Blair is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Nelson Singletary was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, Dooly County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 69-61 to Perry. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Hawkinsville now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Dooly County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Hawkinsville beat Dooly County 74-61 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hawkinsville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
