Basketball Recap: Richmond Victorious

Richmond lost to Tri back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Richmond Red Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-44 victory over the Tri Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since November 15, 2024.

Tri lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kenley Cornelius, who posted 13 points and three blocks. Cornelius is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nakaya Cridge, who scored seven points and 11 boards.

Richmond has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Tri, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.

Richmond didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-45 loss against Charlestown on the 18th. As for Tri, they will face off against New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.
