Softball Recap: 11 Straight Home Wins for Tamarac

Tamarac's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Emma Willard Jesters a 14-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bengals considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Erin Lee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Tamarac got a big performance out of Ashlynn Tomaro, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Toni DeLorenzo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Tamarac was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Emma Willard only posted a batting average of .059.

Tamarac's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Emma Willard, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coincidentally, Tamarac and Emma Willard will both be playing Hoosic Valley the next time they take the field. The Bengals will head out to face the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Jesters will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
