Baseball Recap: Pomfret School Takes a Loss

If Pomfret School was feeling good fresh off their 10-1 takedown of Williston Northampton on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Griffins fell just short of the Cheshire Academy Cats by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Griffins haven't had much luck with the Cats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Pomfret School saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Gordon, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Pomfret School's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Cheshire Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-1.

While Pomfret School had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
