Basketball Recap: Patrick County Takes a Loss

Patrick County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 62-47 to the Chatham Cavaliers. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavaliers earlier this season, when they won 58-48.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chatham to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brenden Hedrick, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 22 points and four steals. Those 22 points gave Hedrick a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Patrick County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Chatham, their record is now 7-9.

Patrick County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-38 loss against Alleghany on the 4th. Chatham has also already played their next game, a 74-24 win against William Campbell on the 4th.
