Volleyball Recap: Berkeley Takes a Loss

Berkeley's tournament run continued when they took on Mission San Jose on Saturday. Berkeley fell just short of Mission San Jose by a score of 2-1.

Berkeley's offense was headlined by Satchel Room and Leo Krause, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Sebastian Chen-McDermott and his 15 assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Berkeley has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. The win (which was Mission San Jose's third in a row) raised their record to 11-10.

Berkeley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bishop O'Dowd at 5:30 p.m. on April 9. As for Mission San Jose, they will face off against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
