Softball Recap: Lexington Wins Going Away Against Rogers

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Lexington blew past Rogers 12-1. Lexington has beaten Rogers the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Rogers has come to flipping the script.

Jillian Herridge was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Maya Bell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Teal Brockenbush, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Lexington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lexington's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Rogers, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

As of now, neither Lexington nor Rogers have any future games scheduled.
