Volleyball Game Preview: UIC College Prep Firecats vs. Golder Panthers

The UIC College Prep Firecats will venture away from home to take on the Golder Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

UIC College Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over DRW College Prep.

UIC College Prep easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Golder had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Intrinsic by a score of 2-0 on Friday.

While Golder won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-23.

UIC College Prep pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Golder, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

UIC College Prep beat Golder 2-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Firecats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
