Baseball Recap: Ballard Comes Up Short

The Ballard Bombers didn't have quite enough to beat the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars on Friday and fell 3-2.

Ballard has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-6 record this season. As for Ankeny Centennial, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Ballard wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Algona on the 28th. As for Ankeny Centennial, they will be playing at home against Norwalk at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
