Volleyball Recap: Briggsdale Falcons vs. Fleming Wildcats
Briggsdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Fleming Wildcats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
While Briggsdale was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-6, 25-22.
Claire Brown paced Briggsdale's offense, picking up ten kills. Brown got some help from Bailey Loyd and her 13 assists. Sloan Benson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Fleming had a senior duo take command as Brooke Schaefer had 12 digs and two aces and Emoree Lousberg had 11 digs. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Lousberg. Hayden Cochran also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Briggsdale's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Fleming, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Briggsdale will face off against Front Range Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fleming, they will challenge Idalia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
