Warhill waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They strolled past the Poquoson Islanders with points to spare, taking the game 51-34. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 46-42 last Monday.

D'Shela Walker was her usual excellent self, going 9 of 21 to rack up 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Taleah James, who posted six points and five assists.

Warhill pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 38% in those games and 20.7% outside of them. As for Poquoson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lafayette the next time they take the court. Warhill will head out to face Lafayette at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Poquoson will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
