Basketball Recap: Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Le Sueur-Henderson Giants out 68-66. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 68-46 victory the Giants walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2017.

Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Le Sueur-Henderson, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 9-2 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial will head out to square off against Maple River at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Le Sueur-Henderson, they will square off against Belle Plaine at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belle Plaine knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Le Sueur-Henderson likes a good challenge.
