Basketball Preview: Chrisman Bears vs. Belton Pirates
The Chrisman Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Belton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chrisman entered their tilt with the Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Chrisman came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 65-54 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Belton waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Blue Springs with a 47-43 victory.
Kordell Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cooper Shrum, who scored nine points along with two steals and two blocks.
Chrisman now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Belton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14.
Chrisman was able to grind out a solid victory over the Pirates when the teams last played back in January, winning 65-58. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Williams, who scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Chrisman still be able to contain Williams? There's only one way to find out.
