Baseball Game Preview: Making Waves Academy Marlins vs. Emerald Aerouants

The Making Waves Academy Marlins will challenge the Emerald Aerouants at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Making Waves Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.

Making Waves Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played KIPP King, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. Making Waves Academy blew past KIPP King 14-3 on Monday.

Oscar Villalobos made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, Making Waves Academy got a massive performance out of Gustavo Rosas, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Rosas has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 13 times he's played. Felipe Gonzalez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Making Waves Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Emerald wound up with the same score they had in their last game (10-9), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

The win got Making Waves Academy back to even at 4-4-1. As for Emerald, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
