Autauga Academy had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They put the hurt on the Montgomery Academy Eagles with a sharp 13-7 win. Considering the Generals have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Caydence Powell was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Autauga Academy let Destinee Carroll and MacKenzie Burgin run wild. Carroll scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Burgin scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Carroll is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Autauga Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.

Autauga Academy pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Montgomery Academy, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Autauga Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
