Basketball Game Preview: McNeil Mavericks vs. Manor Mustangs

McNeil is 0-4 against Manor since December of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The McNeil Mavericks are taking a road trip to take on the Manor Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

McNeil is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They lost to Cedar Ridge at home by a 53-39 margin.

Meanwhile, Manor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Vista Ridge and fell 61-31. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1010th, while the Rangers are ranked 309th).

McNeil's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Manor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

McNeil couldn't quite finish off Manor in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 64-62. Can McNeil avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
