Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association and South Charlotte are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2022, but not for long. The Stallions just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Thunder at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association has given up an average of 58.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering North Stanly just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. The game between the Stallions and the Comets didn't end well, with the Stallions falling 65-51.

While South Charlotte didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They enjoyed a cozy 70-53 win over Arborbrook Christian Academy last Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Thunder's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Falcons are ranked 219th).

Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association better keep an eye on Mason Kern. He was instrumental in South Charlotte's win, going 7-for-11 en route to 16 points and three steals. That's the most steals Kern has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jack Porter, who earned 12 points and seven assists.

South Charlotte was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arborbrook Christian Academy only racked up seven.

Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for South Charlotte, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Greater Cabarrus Athletic Association was able to grind out a solid victory over South Charlotte when the teams last played back in February, winning 60-53. Do the Stallions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
