Basketball Recap: Romeo Comes Up Short

Romeo was the 50-19 winner over Utica Ford when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Romeo Bulldogs fell 49-38 to the Utica Ford Falcons on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Falcons are ranked 158th).

Eli Miller was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds for Utica Ford. Miller has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Gillich, who posted ten points and five boards.

Romeo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Utica Ford, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
