Baseball Recap: Huntington Beach Sets Scoring Season-High Against Edison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Huntington Beach). They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Edison Chargers on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Otto Espinoza looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jayton Greer and Trevor Goldenetz did most of the damage at the plate: Greer went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Goldenetz went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Greer has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Grindlinger, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Huntington Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Huntington Beach's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Edison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-12.

Huntington Beach will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
