Softball Game Preview: Groton-Dunstable Crusaders vs. Lunenburg Blue Knights

The Groton-Dunstable Crusaders will take on the Lunenburg Blue Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Groton-Dunstable is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Groton-Dunstable fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Algonquin Regional on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Titans, falling 13-4. Crusaders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Titans since on Wednesday.

Bridget Houle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI. Aubrey Leedberg also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Lunenburg's offense. They lost 6-0 to Tyngsborough on Friday. The Blue Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Groton-Dunstable's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1. As for Lunenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Groton-Dunstable couldn't quite get it done against Lunenburg in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 12-8. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
