Basketball Game Preview: Dodge City Demons vs. Lakin Broncs

The Dodge City Demons and the Lakin Broncs will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Dodge City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 67 points on Saturday, they were much more limited against Woodward on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 40-25 to the Boomers. The Demons have struggled against the Boomers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakin). They breezed by Sublette to the tune of 68-13 on Tuesday. With the Broncs ahead 43-3 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Dodge City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lakin, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Dodge City against Lakin when the teams last played back in December of 2020, as the squad secured a 76-30 victory. In that game, Dodge City amassed a halftime lead of 43-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
