Baseball Recap: Appleton North's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Appleton North was the 9-5 winner over Fond du Lac when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Lightning came up short against the Cardinals on Friday, falling 16-5. The loss put an end to the Lightning's undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Appleton North fell to 2-1. As for Fond du Lac, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Appleton North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fond du Lac, they will face off against Kaukauna at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Galloping Ghosts' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
