Basketball Recap: Trey Richards' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Downey over Stone Ridge Christian

Downey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. The matchup between them and the Stone Ridge Christian Knights didn't end well, with the Downey Knights falling 55-37.

Downey lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Trey Richards, who posted 12 points and four steals. Kayden Mcdonald was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Stone Ridge Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaiden Sahota, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Mccabe, who put up 13 points along with four blocks and three steals.

Downey's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they pushed their record up to 6-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Downey will square off against Gregori at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Gregori's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.
