While Maine South's victory against Whitney Young wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Dolphins on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since May 2, 2024.

Riley Story was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Aribella Spandiary also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Maine South's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Whitney Young, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maine South will welcome Highland Park at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
