Soccer Recap: Antietam Comes Up Short

Antietam came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-0 to the Oley Valley Lynx. While losing is never fun, Antietam can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 501st, while Oley Valley are ranked 125th).

Antietam's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Oley Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3-1.

Coming up, Antietam will challenge Wyomissing at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Oley Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Schuylkill Valley at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Oley Valley's defense better be ready for this one: Schuylkill Valley have averaged an impressive 2.9 goals per game this season.
