Softball Game Preview: Hamilton Braves vs. Biggs Wolverines

For the second straight game, Hamilton will face off against Biggs. The Braves will host the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Things were looking good for Hamilton after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Biggs by a score of 4-3. The Braves have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

For Biggs' part, Gracie Sheppard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Biggs saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arden Vines, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Biggs' victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
